Familiarize yourself with common words or phrases
Start with some of the common English to Hebrew words and phrases as you begin to learn the Hebrew language. There are many everyday usages such as ‘What’s your name?’ However, the Hebrew pronunciation is different when you are speaking to a man from when you are speaking to a woman. Whereas in English, you would use one phrase the same way. The same rule applies of you are asking the person’s age, if they need help, or how they feel. Many English speaking people are familiar with the Hebrew shalom which means peace, and mazal tov, which means congratulations.
