Wristbands: Not Just Jewlery
When I was growing up girls would compete to see who could invent the cutest wrist jewelry. We wore everything from charms to knotted rope, as a bold fashion statement.
But nowadays, more often than not, when you see people wearing colorful wristbands, it’s likely to be in support of a cause such as stamping out disease, politics, or even raising money for a local charity.
And when celebrities are seen wearing the same bands, the weight of their fame is often enough to raise a lot of money for these important issues.
As much as I enjoyed the jewelry we proudly showed off as teens, I like this modern twist a lot better. What could be better than wearing something trendy and helping save a life?
